Workshop is held in the Studio at Purlin' J's Yarn Emporium, 2-675 Arlington Park Place, Kingston, Ontario.

Saturdays: 12 April, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm; 26 April 10:00 am - 1:00 pm; and 3 May 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Learn to make cuff-down socks on two circular needles. Less awkward than DPN's and less yanking than magic loop! When making socks in the round on two needles, one needle holds the instep, the other holds the sole. Over three classes you will master the two-circulars method, work a heel flap, turn a heel, make a gusset, decrease for the toe, and graft the toe closed.

Class 1 is two hours, class 2 is three hours, and class 3 is two hours in length. There is homework between classes and homework must be done each week in order to be successful.

The pattern is supplied at the first class. Please have your supplies purchased and yarn wound before the first class begins.

Supplies Required:
  • 100g of fingering-weight sock yarn (some nylon content is recommended, rather than 100% natural fibre). We suggest Eclectic Sock or WYS Signature Sock.
  • Two 2.5mm x 60cm circular needles
  • 1 locking stitch marker
  • 2 small round stitch markers, and a
  • Darning needle

Maximum 8 participants.

Prerequisites: Please note that this is not a beginner class. Participants must be able to knit and purl, and be comfortable with standard knitting terminology.
